1. Short Term Projects

a) Master plan
As you know our community has master planned and achieved many goals. Like construction, social services and others. As you all know there are some center which were constructed many decades ago in this long period of time some of our center are beyond repair and this center have to be demolished and re-built, because of this center is not suitable in this modern age. Those members who established and donated for this monastery will not be happy to see it being demolished. They seldomly pass comments but what they say even it is true but we have to develop such center. Our community has also have made a good development plan to improvise their sevice to the Buddhist followers and to have permanent structure for the next 50 years is necessary.

b) Construction of the new Monastery 
This monastery is old and unsafe and conjusted and it can not withstand earthquak, tremors and landslide. The followers are increasing rapidly in numbers and they say that the place is too conjusted to carry out religious services, so the working committee held a meeting with the advisor committee and they made a decision to construct a modern monastery in order to give more services to the followers.

2. Mid Term Projects

a) Ambulance and Hearse services
Even though there are some orgnizations, clubs and societies in Pokhara valley which provide sevices of Ambulance and Hearse but they are not able to cope with the demand, therefore because of this many sick people are unable to reach the hospital in time and there are chances of death. Our organization is in urgent need for an ambulance and hearse. Even though there are patients who reached the hospital and after medical treatment do not survive and they die. After this to transport the dead body it is a great problem because the local vehicles refuse to transport dead body. some local taxies agree to transport the dead body but they demand huge amount putting burden on poor people. In Pokhara valley the people who stay far away have difficult problem to burial their kin because they have to carry the dead body from far distances by walking and in difficult condition like monsoon and in summer because of the heat. There are some other difficulties too because of the increase of the vehicles it is very conjusted and this causes a problem while carrying the dead body many roads get blocked and traffic jam takes place. Therefore because of these reasons we need an abulance and hearse. We have requested with some organizations to donate funds. Our community has a scheme to raise fund and give services to the people who face this type of difficulties.

b) Deep boring drinking water
Water is the most important thing that human requires, without water it is impossible for human, wildebeest, birds can not survive. Even though Nepal is the second in the world for water resources after Brazil, even though we have this rich resources of water we are not able to take advantage of this water resource. In the hilly region to get a pot of water it takes 2-3 hours because they have to walk long distances. In the city area there are many modern constructions and house built but in many areas water is only supplied for 2-3 hours that is why people face water scarcity regularly. The water supply is not even enough for one family then how can Gumba because where as many people gather for religious programme everyday so the water is insufficient. At present we  use three types of water the first , drinking water, cooking meals, canal water is used for washing , bathing and cleaning, we also use mineral water for drinking.  The water is the most important things therefore if deep boring can be done we will be able to give better facilities to the people.

c) Office and dead body house project
In the present house we have place on the ground floor where two dead bodies ritual can be carried out in one time. On the first floor our community office is located. The tie beams of office building are cracked and dammaged. The expert engineers advised us that it is not safe for us to occupy the premises and they advised us to vacant the premises immediately, but it is not possible for us to shift anywhere because we do not have another hous. The office and the place where dead body ritual are carried out has to be demolished and re-built . Therefore our community has a plan schene to construct an office and a place where the religious ritual for the dead body could be performed.

3. Long Term Projects

a) Electrical Crematorium
In today’s modern environment the electrical cremation takes only a few minutes to cremate while using wood it takes a very long time. Using wood for cremation affects our environment in many ways like the burnt charcoals scattered around the whole place and the second the smoke does pollute the air and the dead body’s  clothes are thrown on the bank of river Seti which pollutes the river. If we are able to get the electrical crematorium it will keep our surrounding environment clean and reduce the pollutions and it will also help in reducing the pollution of river Seti. The other main disadvantages are that by using wood for cremating the dead body is the forest will disappear in the next 15 years. Wood would  be great scarcity and insufficient trees around us the global warming will increase. Because of this cause our society needs this facility urgently. If possible we have in mind to find the desing and model the ocst and the construction for the same purpose and we are looking out for generous donors to accomplish this important project.

b) Parking
In this modern world th transportation plays a very important role in our daily activities. In today’s world transportation is increasing daily by this many of our houses and centers do not have sufficient place for parking because of this we face many problems for parking. Even though the BAS have some parking places the people do not park in the right place they park their vehicles anywhere and everywhere making inconvenience for us and other people too. In the near future we are planning to make proper parking facilities behid the new monastery.

c) Park/ Garden
the Pokhara sub Metropolitan city development project on agreement with BAS got the opportunities to use 10 Ropanies of land above the cremation spot or at the side of the river Seti. This place is normally and vastly used by drug addicts therefore the community has planned to make that place into a beautiful and attractive flower garden which will draw national and international tourists. By this plan, it will add more glory to out monastery.

d) Meditation Center
our ex-advisor Capt (Ret’d) Chet Bahadur Gurung has generously donated a piece of land (5 Ropani) in Kaski Distict Pumdi Bhumdi village to the BAS. On the place our society has planned to construct a meditation center which will help our youth and other people to counselling higher education and to learn about the doctrine and teaching languages, tradition, leadership development, communication skills, self confidence and we have even in mind to have more activities for the youth.  

The reason we have to construct new Gumba/ Monastery

i) The Gumba is old and congested
ii) It is not strong to withstand earthquake and is risky
iii) In the event of Aunsi Purnima sindhup barta the people come in large numbers and it is very difficult to accommodate them
iv) There is no sufficient rooms for other various events and worship ceremonies
v) Along with the increase of public population, our followers also are increasing therefore it is very difficult to perform programs

Note : One new Gumba with advance facilities for the followers to train and practices Buddhism.

Selection of construction site

i) The expert engineers have said the present Gumba is very weak and cracked
ii) Every year during monsoon the water increase in level on both side, by this soil get washed away yearly
iii) Landslide at “Tamu Pe Lhu Sangh” and the cremation bed Infront of Shanti Ban Batika was washed away and damaged
iv) Every year in monsoon the water level in the river increases so much that it is dangerous and highly risky at Ramghat area. Right now in the place where the Gumba is that place is not suitable for construction
v) Estimate Budget for construction of new Gumba is NPR 8,00,00,000/- (Eight Crores)
vi) Fund raising from individual and organization

viii) The names of generous donors who have donate open heartly for the construction of New Gumba (Monastery)
