The four main pilgrim places of Lord Buddha.
1- Lumbini – The birth place of Lord Buddha.
2- Bodhgaya – The place where Budha gained enlighten.
3- Sarnath – The place where Buddha first preached Buddhism.
4- Kushinagar – The place where Lord Buddha breath his last.
Bouddhanaath Stupa
Boudhanath Stupa is located in the center of Boudha Bazar which is 5Km North East of Kathmandu. It is the biggest Stupa in Nepal. The Construction of the stupa who and when it was constructed is unknown. The religious rule is an example of Budha Stup. It is huge and attractive. That place is very holy place for Buddhism. The local people around there say it took around 12 years to construct the Budha Stupa.
Swayambhu Nath
Swayambhu Nath has great fame around the world and is traditionally and historically very valuable place in Kathmandu valley. It is located in North East on a hill in Kathmandu. This place is known to teach and practice the religion of Buddhism. This place is not only attractive for the Buddhist people but it is naturally beautiful and attractive, On the Mandala there is huge golden statue of Bajra. Some scholars say it was built in the period of “Kiratkal”, but they don’t have proof when and who built it.
Namo Buddha
Namo Buddha pilgrim place is located in Panauti 16Km east of hilly region approximately 500 ft from the sea level. There are no record how and why the stupa was built. In Ganda Mandan Parbat, it is said that in Buddha’s previous life he sacrificed his flesh for a female tiger. There are some painting on the rocks and some statues.
