I spent a little bit more than two months at the Ramghat monastery. My main responsibility was to teach the younger monks English which was a great experience and really fun to do. What IÂ’ll remember the most from this journey are the things we did, not only in the classroom, but outside of it as well. We played a lot of football, I was invited to different community houses, we bought fish and released them back into a lake which is a part of Buddhist culture, and so many more things. It was very fun and interesting to see life from another point of view and to experience such a different and from my experience, unique culture. I want to thank Bhuwansing and Chandre for making this possible and a big thanks to Harka Ghale, Lopen Phurba Tenzin and Naren for making my time here so enjoyable. I would highly recommend volunteering at this place to anyone and everyone.

Sharing my volunteer experience of 2 months teaching in this Buddhist monastery of the beautiful Pokhara valley is but my pleasure to do. I have had such an exceptional time with this community that every puzzle of my memories would be a reminder of the welcoming, helpful and will-to-good attitude this environment generates. Teaching English to the little monks, playing games with them, observing their Buddhist practices were all part of my daily routine, as well as taking part in those various Buddhist rituals of certain special days and events of the monastery life. It was fun, challenging, rewarding, but more importantly, it was a gift of rich cultural and spiritual experience. In Boudha Arghaon Sadan Monastery I have had a spiritually fulfilling time with its community of school monks, lamas and Buddhist-Gurung lay people. The wholehearted and loving attitude they are radiating upon those around them is an experience one will wish to preserve and spread among the people of the west as the Buddhist souvenir. To me, volunteering is an act of generous sharing, of knowledge, skills and love. I spent a little bit more than two months at the Ramghat monastery.
